'Live and Gigging Showcase'

Happy Easter from all of us here at the Cork Arts Theatre!

March was a great month for us here at the theatre. We had our first in-house production of the year (Tom Murphy's Bailegangaire), we welcomed Bruiser Theatre Company back for their excellent production of Othello(they are ones to watch out for the next time they come to Cork: a thrilling show) and Laura Daly brought us some new writing (Cracking Lives) which was a great success.

For the Lifelong Learning Festival 2011 we have two great events at the Cork Arts Theatre. Enjoy a comic play on Tuesday 12th April from 4:30pm-6pm...Cork Simon Community's Breakaway Theatre Group presents Passing Through - a surreal comedy about a family of undertakers and the supernatural goings-on when one particular client comes through their doors.Passing Through sees actors performing the play they scripted, showcasing both their acting and writing talents.
Info: Activities Coordinator at Simon, Dave O' Hanlon 087 6501589.

For the week of the festival we have an exhibition of Patrick Galvin's poem Madwoman of Cork printed on lithographs (one for each stanza of the poem). The lithographs are by Kent Jones and we are delighted that they will be displayed in our foyer from 10am-6pm Monday 11th to Friday 15th April.
