O’Riada Revisited - Ceoltóirí Chualann
Ceoltóirí Chualann was formed by Seán Ó Riada in 1960. Ó Riada claimed to disband the group in 1969 but he continued to perform with the group until his last concert with the ensemble in Cork City Hall in 1970. After the death of Ó Riada in 1971, Ceoltóirí Chualann was invited to perform at various commemorative events and since then the members meet up every year on Seán’s birthday.
This special concert is presented by FUAIM, Music at UCC, in association with Cork Opera House.
