GLANMIRE IN THE SUN
Back in December, walked to Glanmire on the ice and snow (see here) ; this morning, it was spring sunshine all the way from Mayfield to Tivoli to Dunkettle to Glanmire to New Inn and back to Mayfield.
Took a shot of that dog (1) that has been guarding the dual carriageway for decades before turning left for Glanmire and taking a few shots of that house by the river(2). Then more of the river bank (3 & 4) and a newly opened up view of Vienna Woods Hotel (4A) from the road.
The dog (my live fellow!) was getting impatient but I still managed a couple of photos of the village (5-10) as I got nearer, including one of the entrance to Glen Mervyn House (11). Left again then and up Church Hill, the church (13/14 and 16/17) being St Mary’s (CoI). Walked around this and shot the stunning view (15) of the Glashaboy River below.
Not so pretty up above with the unfinished housing estate (18) but hope was in the air or at least on the windows of the New Inn National School (19) waiting, like all of us, for Spring to really come!
