CHEERIOS and Cork Opera House are delighted to announce that for the first time in the 21st century,SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS will be the 2010 Christmas pantomime.
Cork’s panto with pizzazz opens on Wednesday 15 December under the dynamic direction of Bryan Flynn, returning for his ninth consecutive year. Bryan has already had an incredible year, having directed WEST SIDE STORY, HONK! and the national tour of FAME THE MUSICAL, all of which raked in glowing reviews.
“We are delighted that CHEERIOS have come on board as our 2010 panto sponsor and we welcome them to the team,” said Cork Opera House Chief Executive Officer, Mary Hickson. “I am really looking forward to my first panto season here in Cork Opera House. It is a very important and fun annual outing for the families of Cork including my own. ”
Starring in SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS are Frank Mackey as Dame Nurse Nellie; Ben Morris (fresh from his lead role in FAME – THE MUSICAL) as Woody the Woodcutter; the deliciously diabolical George Hanover as the Wicked Queen; Sinead Sheppard as Fairy Twitter; and Declan Wolfe as Muddles the Manservant.
Talented newcomer, Maeve Curry, has been cast in the title role of Snow White.
A plethora of panto children will be on stage, as students from local dance schools perform the roles of Grumbly, Snoozy, Loopy, Nerdy, Lucky, Blushy and Snotty.
Audiences and critics alike went crazy for last year's pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, and this year’s will be another fully-professional production full of stunning sets, dynamic dancing, top of the chart tunes and hilarity for all.
The Cork Opera House pantomime rivals the most spectacular productions found in Dublin and the U.K., and we are very proud of its quality and "wow" factor.
Alison Healy, Country Manager of CHEERIOS said “CHEERIOS are thrilled to be sponsoring this year’s panto at Cork Opera House. Nothing spells Christmas family fun and laughter like the panto, and Snow White will no doubt provide plenty of that!”
Join us for SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, another hand clapping, feet tapping, magical tour de force. Cheerio!
