The Crawford Art Gallery is by far the biggest in the city centre and well worth a visit. It has some fine rooms in which current and permanent collections may be seen. If you want a break, then it has a highly recommended cafe.

I visited this afternoon to see the current collections: one called Drawing to Forum, art from the Weltkunst Collection, and the other entitled the Cooper Penrose Collection (art and memorabilia of 18th century Cork).

The permanent collections include Paintings, Prints and Sculpture. The Paintings include 23 illustrations by Harry Clarke, Sculpture includes works by John Hogan while Prints/Other Media include pieces by Picasso and Miro.
